The Boston 10K for Women is on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend, with the race starting at 9 a.m. and a festival on Boston Common from 7 a.m. to noon. First run in 1977 as the Bonne Bell Mini Marathon, it is the longest-running women's sporting event in New England, and the organizers expect more than 6,000 runners and walkers.

Schedule

• 7 a.m.-noon: festival and expo on Boston Common, with registration, shirt pick-up and bag check
• 8:50 a.m.: wheelchair and handcycle start
• 9 a.m.: race start
• 10:15 a.m.: awards ceremony
• 10:30 a.m.: kids' races (free, ages 12 and under, a quarter-mile loop on the Common's accessible paths)

The course

The start is at the Public Garden end of Beacon Street. Runners head west through Back Bay, cross the Massachusetts Avenue bridge and run out and back along Memorial Drive on the Cambridge side of the Charles, then return over the same bridge, turn onto Commonwealth Avenue and finish down Charles Street between the Public Garden and the Common. It is flat, and the organizers note it has produced American records.

Good to know

Registration opened in March and race shirts go to the first 6,000 registrants. Bag check is on the Common's Parade Grounds from 6 a.m. to noon. Spectators can watch the finish on Charles Street, a few steps from the festival on the Common.
