About
Raffles Boston opened in 2022 in a 35-story glass tower at 40 Trinity Place, on the edge of Back Bay between Copley Square and the South End. It was the first Raffles in North America. Its 147 rooms fill floors 6 to 14, private residences rise above them, and the signature bar and lounge sit high over Stuart Street.
It suits travelers who want a newer luxury hotel with a full spa and several places to eat and drink under one roof. Back Bay station, for Amtrak, the Commuter Rail and the Orange Line, is about two blocks away, and Copley station on the Green Line, Copley Place and the Boston Public Library are a short walk.
Rooms and suites
Rooms start with the Deluxe King at about 398 square feet, with a marble bathroom, and step up through Premier and Grand categories to a range of suites. Every stay includes Raffles Butler Service, the brand's around-the-clock personal assistance, a tradition it carries over from its Singapore original.
Bars and restaurants
Long Bar & Terrace is the all-day room, with New England dishes such as lobster rolls and oysters, cocktails and afternoon tea. It opens at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends and stays open until midnight.
La Padrona is the hotel's Italian restaurant, The Blind Duck is a hidden cocktail bar, and Café Pastel handles coffee and pastries at street level.
Spa and fitness
The Guerlain Spa on the fourth floor has a 20-meter indoor lap pool, a hot tub, saunas, treatment rooms and a fitness center. Book treatments ahead on weekends.
The neighborhood
Trinity Place sits where Back Bay meets the South End and Bay Village. Copley Square, Trinity Church and the finish line of the Boston Marathon are five minutes north, and the South End's restaurant rows on Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue, including SRV and Mistral, are within a ten-minute walk. Newbury Street's shops start a few blocks beyond Copley.
Getting there
Back Bay station is the easiest arrival by train from New York or the airport. From Logan, a taxi or ride-share takes about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic through the tunnels.
Before you book
Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout at noon. Pets are welcome for $150 per room per stay, and service animals stay free. Valet parking is $80 a night. The hotel sits on a quiet side street, so cars pick up and drop off directly at the entrance.
