A world-premiere rock opera written by Chadwick Stokes, of the Boston-based bands Dispatch and State Radio, and Jessie Nelson, who also directs. After barely escaping an illegal abortion, a young woman meets the Janes, an underground network of women who risked everything to help others with nowhere to turn. It is inspired by true stories and performed as a heightened concert.

It runs 80 minutes with no intermission at Farkas Hall in Harvard Square. The A.R.T. recommends it for ages 14 and up and notes descriptions of domestic violence and abortion, loud music and flashing lights.

Most performances are sold out. The A.R.T. show page shows which dates still have seats.

Details checked against the A.R.T. show page on October 27, 2026. Dates, times and prices can change, so confirm with the organizer before you go.
