Boston Lyric Opera stages a new production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre in March 2027: Fridays, March 12 and March 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays, March 14 and March 21 at 3 p.m. It is sung in Italian with English supertitles, and it is the first time the company has performed Figaro since 2017. The production is one of the centerpieces of BLO's 50th anniversary season.

The story in brief

Figaro and Susanna are to marry, but the Count they work for wants Susanna for himself. Over one chaotic day, Figaro, Susanna and the neglected Countess each try to outwit him.

Getting there

The theater is at 219 Tremont Street. BLO lists Boylston and Arlington (Green Line), Chinatown (Orange Line) and Park Street (Red and Green lines) as the nearest stations. Wheelchair-accessible seating is on the orchestra level only, as the building has no elevator to upper floors.

Clocks move forward on Sunday, March 14, the day of the first matinee, so allow for the lost hour.
