The Boston Half, the Boston Athletic Association's fall half marathon, is on Sunday, November 8, 2026. It starts at 8 a.m. and finishes in Franklin Park, which the B.A.A. calls one of the oldest parks in America, and the 13.1-mile course follows the park system past the Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, Willow Pond and Olmsted Park before returning along the Arborway to the finish on Pierpont Road.

Race-day timings

• Start: 8 a.m., with runners seeded by expected pace.
• Finish line closes: 11:15 a.m.
• Road closures: course roads close from about 7:30 to 11 a.m.; Boston and State Police decide when they reopen.

Entry

General registration has closed. The B.A.A. says places are still available through Team Dana-Farber, the race's charity program. Watching is free, and the B.A.A. says the 2026 race will again include youth races for children up to 14.

Getting there

The B.A.A. runs race-morning shuttles for runners, volunteers and families from Copley Square and from Forest Hills station (Orange Line), starting at 5:30 a.m. and dropping off on Seaver Street beside the park. Return shuttles pick up on Seaver Street until noon. Parking is restricted on the park side of Seaver Street on race morning, so the shuttle is the practical choice.

It is a good race to watch if you want the Emerald Necklace at the end of foliage season; Jamaica Pond and the Jamaicaway are the easiest stretches to reach on foot.
