Boston's harbor dinner, lunch and brunch cruises run two to two and a half hours and sail on set schedules, while the sunset cruises are shorter. City Cruises runs the most sailings, with a buffet dinner from Commonwealth Pier in the Seaport, plated dinners, lunches and brunches from Rowes Wharf, and a 90-minute sunset cruise from Long Wharf. Classic Harbor Line and Liberty Fleet add smaller boats and tall-ship sails. Everything below comes from the operators' own pages, checked October 3, 2026, so confirm dates and prices when you book.

Boston dinner cruises: Signature or Premier

City Cruises sells two dinner cruises, and the difference is the boat, the meal and the dress. The Signature Dinner Cruise from Commonwealth Pier is a buffet dinner with a DJ, a full cash bar and casual attire. The Premier Dinner Cruise on Odyssey leaves from Rowes Wharf with a plated dinner, unlimited coffee, tea, iced tea and water, a DJ, a cash bar and semi-formal dress. Window tables can be reserved as an upgrade on the Premier cruise.

Both run for 2.5 hours on the same 2026 schedule: Monday to Thursday 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Boarding opens 30 minutes before sailing on the Signature cruise and an hour before on the Premier. Seating is pre-assigned, so tell City Cruises ahead of time if you want to sit with another party. Children are welcome and infants under two cruise free. Decks are climate-controlled, and the Odyssey cruises year-round. You can book the Premier Dinner Cruise on Odyssey through Viator if you prefer.

BostonVacay earns a commission from Viator if you book through these links, at no extra cost to you.

On October 3, 2026 the operator's pages showed from-prices of $84 for the Signature cruise and $102 for the Premier, both with a 30 percent fall promotion applied to list prices of $149 and $159. City Cruises says the cost varies with booking time and upgrades. Parking is discounted in the Seaport Hotel garage at 1 Seaport Lane for Commonwealth Pier and in the Rowes Wharf garage at 30 Rowes Wharf. For a hotel on the same waterfront as Rowes Wharf, see the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Lunch and brunch cruises

Daytime cruises are the easier choice with children and the better way to see the skyline in good light. City Cruises' Premier Lunch Cruise is a three-course plated lunch with table-side service, listed from $105. Its Premier Brunch Cruise on Odyssey is a buffet brunch with complimentary champagne for guests aged 21 or over, listed from $88. Both are two hours, board at 11:00 a.m. and cruise from noon to 2:00 p.m.; the pages do not say which days each runs, so choose a date in the booking calendar.

Classic Harbor Line offers a smaller-boat alternative. Its two-hour brunch cruise aboard the yacht Northern Lights, listed at up to $93.28, serves a freshly prepared brunch buffet in a climate-controlled main salon, with a bar on board; on October 3, 2026 it listed soda and water at $2, beer at $6, wine at $7 a glass and mixed drinks at $9. From October to mid-November it also runs a fall foliage brunch cruise and a 1.5-hour fall lunch cruise, listed at up to $72.08. See the Classic Harbor Line brunch cruise on Viator for dates. Classic Harbor Line says its Boston cruises run daily from February through December.

Sunset cruises and sails

City Cruises' Narrated Historic Sunset Cruise is the shortest at 90 minutes. It leaves from 1 Long Wharf, next to the New England Aquarium, with a guide narrating the harbor islands, the skyline and the historic sites, indoor spaces with large windows, outdoor decks, a cash bar and light snacks for sale. It is listed from $49, with pricing and availability varying by season, so pick your date in the calendar and read the refund terms on the booking page before you pay. It is also on Viator as the 90-minute harbor sunset cruise.

Classic Harbor Line runs a two-hour sunset cruise on the yacht Northern Lights, listed at up to $86.92, and a two-hour sunset sail under the schooner Adirondack, listed at up to $101.76; both leave from 60 Rowes Wharf. Its Northern Lights sunset cruise is bookable on Viator. Liberty Fleet's two-hour Sunset Sail from Fan Pier Marina was $68 for adults ($62 military) on October 3, 2026; drinks are sold on board and snacks and bag lunches are welcome, but not coolers or outside drinks. Liberty Fleet also sells a 1.5-hour daytime sail, listed from $35, and a tall-ship harbor cruise is bookable on Viator. Sunset time changes through the year, so book by the operator's calendar rather than a fixed hour.

What to wear and what to know before you book

Dress for the boat: casual on the Signature dinner cruise, semi-formal on the Odyssey cruises, and a light jacket or wrap for any open-air deck, which City Cruises says can be cool or breezy. Cash bars mean a card or cash for drinks. City Cruises' Ticket Assurance lets you reschedule or refund a reservation up to two hours before boarding, but not on special events, holidays or partner tours, and the sunset cruise page carries its own non-refundable wording. If you are arriving by ship, our guides to cruises that leave from Boston and where Boston Harbor is explain the waterfront, and the whale watching guide covers daytime sailings.
