Boston Marriott Long Wharf
About
Boston Marriott Long Wharf stands at the land end of Long Wharf, the early 18th-century pier that once ran half a mile into the harbor from today's State Street and is now a National Historic Landmark. The New England Aquarium is next door, and the wharf is the departure point for many of the harbor's ferries, water taxis to the airport and cruises to the Boston Harbor Islands.
That makes it a strong pick for families headed to the aquarium, first-time visitors who plan to walk to Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and the North End, and anyone building a trip around the water. Aquarium station on the Blue Line is the nearest subway stop, and the Blue Line runs directly to the airport. North Station and South Station are the closest rail stations.
Choosing a room
Rooms are sold by outlook: Water View, Wharf View, City View and Interior, in king or two-queen layouts, plus one-bedroom suites. The view is most of what you pay for here, so it is worth deciding which you want before you book. The rooms are finished in brown leather, gray marble and deep blue fabrics that take their cue from the harbor.
Pool, fitness and the M Club
The heated indoor pool is open year-round behind floor-to-ceiling windows that look toward the harbor, and the outdoor Pool Deck beside it serves food and drinks on select weekends in season. The fitness center is open 24 hours. The two-story M Club lounge, with waterfront views and weekday breakfast, is reserved for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above.
Practical notes
Parking is valet only, pets are not allowed, and there is no electric-vehicle charging. The five-story atrium in the Palm Garden hosts weddings and receptions. Rates are in the FAQ.
Restaurant and cafes
Waterline is the hotel's restaurant, serving New England dishes from locally sourced ingredients with views over the harbor from its spot on Long Wharf. Executive chef Antonio Cardoso oversees the menu, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings it sets out a breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelets and waffles. Tables can be booked online.
The Pool Deck is an outdoor bar for hotel guests with light food and harbor views, open on select weekends in season. A Starbucks on the first floor covers coffee, and A La Carte handles in-room dining and takeout, ordered through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
