Boston Pride for the People, the city's main Pride parade and festival, takes place on a Saturday in June. In 2026 it was held on Saturday, June 6, with the parade stepping off at 11 a.m. from Copley Square and ending at Boston Common, where the festival and block party ran into the evening. The 2027 date had not been announced as of September 30, 2026.
This guide was first written for Pride 2024. It now explains how Boston's Pride weekend works each June, using the 2026 schedule and route as the most recent example, so you can plan a trip as soon as organizers publish next year's date on bostonprideforthepeople.org.

The 2026 celebration came a week earlier than usual so that it would not collide with World Cup matches in the city the following weekend. In 2025 the parade was on Saturday, June 14. Meet Boston notes that Pride Month events in the city start on June 1 and continue into early July.
What is the Boston Pride parade route?
The 2026 route published by Meet Boston started on Clarendon Street beside the Boston Public Library in Copley Square, turned left onto Tremont Street into the South End, left onto Berkeley Street, right onto Boylston Street and left onto Charles Street, finishing at Boston Common. The final stretch on Charles Street runs between the Common and the Public Garden.
Routes can change from year to year, so check the organizer's parade page in the weeks before the event. Earlier versions of this page described a different route; the one above is the most recent published.
Who organizes Boston Pride now?
The original organizer, Boston Pride Inc., dissolved in 2021 after several years of internal disputes, with critics arguing it had not done enough on racial and transgender inclusion. A new volunteer-led group, Boston Pride for the People, formed in September 2022 and brought the parade back in June 2023. It describes the parade as a community-centered, non-commercial space whose purpose is to commemorate the LGBTQ+ people who fought for their community, to celebrate it, and to keep advocating for equity.
The event is large. Organizers told NBC Boston that more than a million people attended in 2025 and roughly 15,000 marched, and they bill it as the largest Pride event in New England.
The Boston Dyke March and other Pride events
The Boston Dyke March has run since 1995 as a grassroots, non-commercial alternative to the main parade. It is held on the Friday evening before the parade, gathering at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common with community tables and speakers before a march of about two miles. In 2026 it was a mask-required event, ASL-interpreted, with an accessibility vehicle for anyone who needed a ride for part of the route. Details are posted each spring on bostondykemarch.com.
Beyond the big weekend, bars, community groups and cultural organizations run their own Pride programming through June. The Boston events calendar guide and our things to do in Boston in June cover the rest of the month.
Getting there and where to stay
Take the T. The parade ends at Boston Common, which has Park Street station (Red and Green lines) at its northeast corner and Boylston station (Green Line) at Tremont and Boylston streets; Arlington station on the Green Line sits across from the Public Garden. Streets along the route close to traffic on parade morning, and parking near the Common is limited to garages that fill early.
Hotels near the start of the route put you a short walk from the ribbon cutting: Fairmont Copley Plaza faces Copley Square, The Lenox Hotel is on Boylston Street in Back Bay, and Hilton Boston Park Plaza is a few blocks from the Public Garden. June is a busy month for Boston hotels, so book once the date is announced. For weather and crowds across the year, see the best time to visit Boston.
