Cheers Beacon Hill opened in 1969 as the Bull & Finch Pub, in the lower level of a mansion at 84 Beacon Street, and it became the inspiration for the setting of the TV comedy Cheers, which premiered on September 30, 1982. The pub's own story is that the show's producers visited other Boston bars before coming back here and deciding, “This is the place.”
