Yvonne's
About
Yvonne's is a modern supper club in the rooms of Locke-Ober, the landmark Boston restaurant that opened in 1862, and its operator, COJE Management Group, has kept much of that interior's original architecture. The menu is built for sharing and borrows from the Middle East, the Mediterranean, Europe and America, and the evening is designed to run from dinner straight into drinks.
It works best for groups, birthdays and a long night out rather than a quick bite: plates arrive to share, larger feasts are sized for two or more, and the bar stays open for hours after the kitchen's supper service ends. The restaurant is on Winter Place in Downtown Crossing.
How the menu works
The supper menu moves from snacks and mezze, such as whipped feta with baba ghanoush and baked Duxbury oysters, through social plates like lazy lobster dumplings with black truffle butter and Mediterranean octopus, to stone-fired pitas topped with sujuk or spicy lamb sausage. The feasts are the table centerpieces: a 32-ounce prime rib chop, a za'atar rack of lamb or a 24-hour pork short rib. For dessert, the baked Alaska is finished with fire at the table.
Cocktails and wine
The bar is half the point. The cocktail list runs from The Hot and Dirty, a vodka martini made with house ocean brine, fino and Calabrian chili, to clarified and tea-based drinks, and a separate wine list is posted on the website.
Rooms for groups
Parties of 11 or more book through COJE's events team, which offers the semi-private Library for up to 34 seated guests, a Library table for 16, a private Supper Club room for 70 seated, and the full venue for 140 seated or 250 standing.
Before you go
Reservations are for supper only; the restaurant will not hold a table booked just for cocktails. Some bookings need a credit card, late arrivals get a 15-minute grace period, and ID is checked for alcohol service. The details are in the FAQ.
