Is downtown a good place to stay in Boston?
Yes, if you want to walk to the sights. The Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Common and the waterfront are all within walking distance of each other. The trade-off is that downtown is quieter at night than Back Bay, and rooms in historic buildings run small.
